Terms of service

This is a translation for convenience; the Swedish version is legally binding. Läs originalet på svenska.
These terms apply when you, as a company or organisation, use Värn.
The service
Värn is a service for external security monitoring, data breach monitoring and security documentation. The scope of the service for each plan is shown on the pricing page.
Authority to monitor
You may only add and verify domains that your organisation owns or has written permission to have monitored. You are responsible for the verification being carried out by someone with authority to change the domain's DNS. Attempts to bypass the verification or to use the service against other people's systems are prohibited and lead to the account being closed.
Nature and limitations of the service
- The checks are external and passive and do not cover internal systems, application logic or everything that affects your security.
- Värn does not replace penetration tests, audits or legal advice.
- Reports and the security posture are documentation support and do not constitute certification or a statement of compliance with laws or standards.
- No source of data breaches is complete.
Accounts and security
You are responsible for keeping users up to date, protecting sign-in details and assigning permissions with care. We recommend two-step verification for all users.
Trial, prices and payment
The trial is free of charge for 30 days. After that, the prices on the pricing page apply unless otherwise agreed. Prices are stated excluding VAT.
Personal data
How we process personal data is described in our privacy policy. When Värn processes personal data on your behalf, a data processing agreement applies.
Limitation of liability
Värn is not liable for indirect damage or for damage arising from shortcomings the service did not detect. Our total liability is limited to the fees you have paid for the service in the last twelve months.
Termination
You can terminate the service at any time. We can close an account that is used in breach of the terms.
Governing law
Swedish law applies. Disputes are settled by the Swedish general courts.
